Number of teams: 20 (see ‘TEAMS’ for details)

Total number of games: 57 (each team to play 3 games vs. each team)

Team ended last in standings relegates down to the High League (Russia 2) for season 08-09

Top team from High League upgrades to the Super League for season 08-09, if qualifies according to FHR Regulations

No tie can be final score of the game

Points given: 3 for wins in regular time; 2 for wins in overtime or shootouts; 1 for losses in overtime or shootouts; 0 for losses in regular time

Shootouts: 3 attempts per each team, upon no game winning decided it goes one by one skater from each until game score is decided

PLAYOFFS

Number of teams: top 16

Winner of each series to be decided in best of 5 games (3 wins)

Overtime: upon a tie is fixed after regular time, 10-minutes sudden death overtime takes place; then shootouts until game winning decision

Overtime in Game 5 of any series: upon a tie is fixed after regular time, 20-minutes sudden death overtimes take place until one of teams scores series decision goal
